Electrode Holders and Clamping Devices

Kopf Electrode Holders and Clamping Devices are designed for use with all Kopf Electrode Manipulators. A unique vertical adjustment permits a Kopf holder to be placed as close as possible to the laboratory animal's head. This allows the shortest electrode possible to be used, ensuring rigidity and lack of deflection. It also makes it possible to easily obtain preset depths and readings.

Models 1770, 1771 and 1773 have plastic block ends with serrated grooves 1 mm apart. These separations are on three sides to facilitate loading of electrodes. Because of the clamping arrangements, more than one electrode may be held on one side of the holder.

All holders are supplied with an 1770-C Upper Bracket and Screw assembly for mounting to any Kopf Electrode Manipulator.

Electrode, Glass Pipette, Hypodermic Tubing & Guide Cannula

Model 1766-AP Cannula Holder designed to hold a wide variety of guide cannulas, manufactured by Alzet and Plastics One. Holds 3.5 mm diameter pedestal.

Model 1768 Micrometer Adjustable Electrode Holder allows micrometer axial control of the electrode. It holds electrodes from .75 mm to 1.5 mm diameter. Micrometer extending 5.5 mm.

Model 1769 90° Electrode Holder utilizes the same standard electrode holder with corner clamp as the Model 1770, but is mounted so that the electrode protrudes 90°. Holds electrodes from
0.4 mm to 1.3 mm diameter.

Model 1770 Standard Electrode Holder with Corner Clamp is supplied with all manipulators unless otherwise specified. Holds electrodes of .4 mm to 1.3 mm diameter. Model 1778 is modified with longer shaft 22.23 cm.

Model 1771 Electrode Holder with Straight Clamp holds electrodes from 0.4 mm to 3.8 mm diameter.

Models 1770, 1771, 1773 and 1778 have precision molded plastic block with serrated grooves 1 mm apart. These separations are on three sides to facilitate loading of electrodes. Clamping design allows more than one electrode to be held on one side of the holder.

Syringe

Model 1772 Universal Holder places syringes, large diameter electrodes or drill handpieces stereotaxically. It holds devices from 2.8 mm to 11 mm diameter.

Model 1772-F Universal Holder with Needle Support Foot features our Model 1772 Universal Holder with needle support foot for stabilizing the needle tip.

Model 1772-F1 5 and 10 µL Hamilton syringe.
Model 1772-F2 ½, 1 and 2 µL Hamilton syringe.
Model 1772-F3 25 and 50 µL Hamilton syringe.

Electrode, Glass Pipette,
Hypodermic Tubing & Guide Cannula

Model 1773 Electrode Holder with Removable Open Side Clamp is useful for chronic work when cementing electrodes. Holds 0.4 mm to 3.6 mm diameter.

Model 1774 Wedge Holder with Removable Flag is used for cementing electrodes to a plastic flag that is held with a tapered clamp. Because of its design a great number of electrodes can be placed very closely together.

Model 1775 Collet Electrode Holder with insulated collet holds from 0 to 1.1 mm diameter electrodes.

Guide Cannula

Model 1776-P1 Cannula Holder is designed to hold a wide variety of guide cannula manufactured by Alzet and Plastic One. Holds 3.5 mm diameter pedestal.

Model 1776-P2 Dual Adjustable Cannula Holder is designed to provide accurate placement of two guide cannula simultaneously. For use with Alzet or Plastics One cannula.

Minimum cannula distance is 3.6 mm
Maximum cannula distance is 15.6 mm
(cannula centerline to cannula centerline)
Maximum Cannula body distance 12 mm

Dual vernier scales allow accurate movement of as little as 0.1 mm over the full 12.0 mm length of adjustment. Holds 3.5 mm diameter pedestal.

Model 1776 Custom Holder has a stainless steel end with a set screw. Holder is custom drilled to hold specific item (i.e. electrode, guide cannula) Hole sizes available 1.5 mm to 6 mm. Hole size must be specified at time of order. A sample cannula or electrode is requested at time of order.

Razor Blade

Model 1777 Razor Blade Holder will hold a standard single edged razor blade.

Custom Holders

Model 1779 Cannula Holder is designed to hold a variety of guide cannula manufactured by CMA Microdialysis.

Kopf designs and manufactures custom holders. If you do not find a holder that is suitable for your surgical set-up we encourage you to contact our office.
